The Golden Dawn cocktail is said to have been named after the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a mystical organization founded in the late 1800s in London. The cocktail’s bright yellow color is thought to represent the dawn, while the name “Golden” alludes to the esoteric organization’s use of the color gold to represent spiritual illumination.
Shake the first four ingredients well with ice and strain them into a chilled cocktail glass.
Pour the grenadine through the drink to the bottom to create the “Golden dawn”.
Garnish with the cherry.
